Fluorite (also called fluorspar) is the mineral form of calcium fluoride. It belongs to the halide minerals.

Fluorite deposits are found in many locations around the world such as in Argentina, Austria, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Namibia, Russia, Spain, Switzerland and the United States.
Quality
Fluorite comes in a range of colours from colorless to black. The common fluorite colour is purple, while other popular colours include blue, green and yellow. Most fluorite is a single colour, but some fluorites display multiple colours arranged in bands or zones.
